Our Story

How it all started...

In 1970, Orange Avenue Missionary Baptist Church felt a need to plant a church in the east part of Leon county. They bought land and called Tommy Arnan as the missionary.

On September 29, 1972, Pastor Odell Deloach and eighteen members organized as Capital Heights Baptist Church. The first services in the current building were held on March 20, 1977, with Pastor Gary Linton.

Thomas "T.D." Terry is the longest serving pastor (September 1983 - August 2004.)

Capital Heights Baptist Church is a church dedicated to the spreading of the good news of Jesus Christ our Savior.

Through Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Summer Camp, youth rallys, direct mail, preaching, music, and missionaries on every continent, we seek to share God's message of Hope, Love and Forgiveness.
