Our Pastor

Pastor Derrick Burrus is married with seven sons and three daughters. He was born in Pahokee, Florida. He trusted Christ as his Savior in 1989 and was baptized by Lakeside Baptist Church where he was licensed to the ministry in 1991.

In 1992, he was ordained by Central Baptist Church in Lithia where he served as youth pastor while attending Florida Baptist College
in Brandon.

He pastored Lake Park Baptist Church in Miramar from 1992 to 1995 and Landmark Baptist Church in Orlando from 1995 to 2004.

He has pastored
Capital Heights Baptist Church in Tallahassee
since February 2005.
