Doctrinal Statement of Capital Heights Baptist Church
Tallahassee, Florida
We believe the King James Bible is the word of God from which all teachings must be based.
(II Timothy 3:16-17)
In order to differentiate ourselves from churches which have strayed from biblical truths, we briefly state the following doctrines to align ourselves with the Bible and other churches which share our commitment to God’s word:
We believe the Genesis account of creation.
We believe in the triune nature of God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Genesis 1:26, John 1:1-3,14, Colossians 2:9, Matthew 28:19, I John 5:7
We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ.
Luke 1:27
We believe in the sinful, depraved nature of man.
Romans 3:23, John 3:18
We believe that man can find salvation and redemption only by repentance and faith in Jesus Christ
as the sacrifice for forgiveness of sin.
John 14:6, 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 6:23
We believe scriptural baptism is that of a believer, by immersion,
by the authority of a local New Testament church.
Romans 6:3, Colossians 2:12, Matthew 28:18-19
We believe in closed communion, restricted to the members of a local church.
I Corinthians 11:23-32, 5:7-13
We believe in local church and in church discipline.
We refute the doctrine of one universal church.
Matthew 18:15-17, I Corinthians 5:11-13
We believe in church ordination of qualified and certified men
to the offices of Pastors and Deacons.
Acts 6, I Timothy 3, Titus 1
We believe in freewill tithes and offerings for the funding of the ministry.
I Corinthians 16:1-2, Malachi 3:8-10
We believe in personal evangelism and missions.
Luke 10:2, II Timothy 4:5
We believe in the eternal security of the believer.
John 3:36, Romans 8:35-39
We believe in the eminent, pre-tribulation, pre-millennial,
personal return of Jesus Christ when He will call believers to eternity in Heaven.
John 14:1-3, I Thessalonians 4:13-18
We believe those who refuse God
will exist in eternal damnation in the Lake of Fire.
John 3:36, Revelation 20:15, 21:8
